A full-time Physical Therapist position is available to support students in both school and home environments within a K-12 educational setting located in Jamaica, NY. This role involves working closely with students, families, and educational staff to provide therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing physical mobility, functional independence, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, and implement individualized physical therapy programs for students in K-12 settings. Deliver therapy services in both school and home environments to meet students needs. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student progress and inclusion. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy interventions as necessary. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs). Provide guidance and training to school staff and caregivers on proper physical therapy techniques and equipment use. Desired Qualifications: Licensed Physical Therapist with relevant state certification or licensure. Experience working with children in educational or pediatric therapy settings. Strong understanding of physical therapy practices in school-based environments. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel. Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance requirements.
