relationship of a small firm. Naik Consulting Group is currently
seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) with an opportunity to
experience a varied array of projects which include large
infrastructure, ground, underground, rail, and transit projects
throughout the New York Area. This individual will function as a
senior level Electrical Engineer on projects, responsible for all
aspects of electrical design, ranging from: field survey,
calculations, computer aided drafting (CAD), equipment selection,
coordination with trades, maintaining client standards and
relations, and other fundamentals of engineering. Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the electrical design of Infrastructure,
transportation, and commercial projects. Applies knowledge of
industry standards and electrical engineering design principles
Applies knowledge of electrical power design in support of a range
of projects Applies knowledge of one-line drawings, elementaries,
and wiring diagrams, equipment specifications (including
transformers, MCC, switchgear, substation equipment), power plans,
conduit plans, cable schedules, system studies and protective relay
settings Applies knowledge of power systems ranging from 120V to
35kV distribution and transmission systems Evaluates, selects,
specifies, and engineers all electrical engineered systems or
products for a project Engages in the development of a design
through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual
formats Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional
models of electrical systems and provides markups for junior
engineers Prepares and revises documentation in various electrical
phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details
Participates in project coordination meetings with internal team
members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor,
subcontractors, and vendors Participates in client project
requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating
Participates in the full project cycle, planning phase through
construction close-out Aids in the development of the project
scope, budget, staffing, and schedule Prepares and coordinates
development the project specifications with construction documents
Participates in quality assurance and quality control on own
projects and projects of peers Assists in the development of new
standards and specifications for the electrical group Assists with
the development of proposal for smaller, less complex projects
Oversees and manages multiple projects Participates in
constructability review Leads one or more teams through all phases
of project document production Checks the work of others for
accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget
and schedule Participates and collaborates in project team setting
and to engage in creative and critical thought Visits project
sites, record construction progress and existing conditions, attend
testing events Applies codes and standards which regulate and guide
the industry Uses AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Microsoft Word
to assemble contract documents Stamp and seal electrical drawings
and documentation as the responsible engineer of record.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Licensed
Professional Engineer (PE) required. NY PE is preferred Minimum of
7 years of experience in electrical engineering and design Must
have NY/NJ relevant experience Transportation and/or infrastructure
experience is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication
skills, and presentation abilities in internal project settings
with senior management team, external project stakeholders
including senior client management leadership Excellent
interpersonal skills and staff supervision Requisite knowledge,
interpretation, and application of National Electrical Code and
applicable energy codes Strong understanding of all phases of
project document production and the relationship between drawings
and specifications Exceptional knowledge of electrical systems,
