America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty
organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by
2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern
New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional
and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing
homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with
HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with
behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need,
including a special education preschool program.We are in search of
new talent in the following position---Position: Program
DirectorThe Program Director ensures the program provides
comprehensive and integrated on-site social services that help
residents restore and rebuild their lives while healing from their
experience of domestic violence. The Director of Program Services
is responsible for ensuring that the domestic violence program
meets the highest possible standards of health and safety and
provides all needed quality services to residents to meet
contractual and regulatory requirements. The Director of Program
Services ensures the accurate implementation by staff of the
approved policies and procedures as defined by Volunteers of
America-Greater New York and the appropriate funding source.Minimum
Qualifications:
- The position requires a post graduate degree and a clinical
license LCSW/LPC and three to five years of relevant experience
working with individuals or families of domestic violence.
- A demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs serving
victims of domestic violence and their families.
- Requires a reasonable combination of skills in the following
areas: the design, operational oversight and evaluation of program
services, personnel management, budget development and control,
property management, public relations, and governmental
relations.
- Ensure that staff are credentialed to provide screening, risk
assessment and crisis intervention for victims and their
children.
- Ensure that staff provides appropriate case management and
therapeutic interventions including family case management,
individual domestic violence counseling, group domestic violence
counseling, youth support services, housing search assistance and
employment preparation.
- Manage program services for quality and consistency. Monitor
results of external and agency surveys and the implementation of
corrective action plans.
- Hire, train and supervise program personnel.
- Manage assigned program fiscal operations and facilities.
- Manage community and governmental relations.
- Manage process and submit applications for RFPs and
grants.
- Provide clinical supervision to assist staff with integrating
trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices such as
motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies.
- Ensure support and education are provided and documented to
assist residents in their transition into the community including
referrals to appropriate social service agencies when the facility
does not provide the needed services.
- Provide clinical oversight, intervention, and emergency
response to address consumer critical incidents.We are committed to
