About you: You are an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is a self-starter and enjoys the variety that emergency medicine brings. You have previous experience with proper animal restraint, basic surgery prep, and assisting veterinary technicians and doctors in a clinical setting. Experience with IV catheter placement and venipuncture is a plus but not required. If you enjoy the adrenaline rush of emergency medicine, this job is for you! Anticipated Schedule: This is a full-time position: Saturday – 7:30am-3:30pm Monday – 3pm-11pm Tuesday – 7:30am-7:30pm Wednesday – 11am-11pm Holidays are required. Compensation: Starting at $17.00-$20.00/hour depending upon experience and education. Mass-RI Veterinary is an Emergency/Urgent Care facility located in Swansea, MA, and a network hospital of Pieper Veterinary. We know it's not always easy to make a move. Requirements Prior experience working in a veterinary setting. Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members. Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Compassion and patience when handling animals. Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology. Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations. Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members. Willingness to take direction and adapt to new tasks and procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Punctuality and reliability, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care. Positive attitude, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to client care. Willingness to continue learning and stay updated on veterinary practices. Must be 18 years or older to apply. ACM1
