GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
A person in this position is responsible for operating and
maintaining planetary mixers, three-roll milling machines and
packaging equipment to manufacture chemical batches of marking inks
and other chemicals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Safely operate, clean and maintain manufacturing equipment
including planetary mixers, three-roll mills, tanks, pumps and
mixers to manufacture batches of chemical products * Weigh raw
materials to be used in each batch following pertained procedures
and wearing adequate personnel protective equipment (PPE). *
Package finished product into various containers and apply labels.
* Locate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing
areas using a forklift. * Measures and dispense quantities of
liquid and solid chemicals using scales and flow meters. * Collect
process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for
analysis. * Maintain required log sheets including but not limited
to batch tickets, packaging sheets, and equipment inspections. *
Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management,
emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an
acceptable level of understanding of topics. * Package, mark, and
label Hazardous Waste containers. * Operate equipment and follow
procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
standards. * Maintain housekeeping standards in work area. *
Adheres to all corporate, plant and safety policies/procedures. *
Operate a forklift as applicable. * Perform inventory cycle counts.
* Wear personal protective equipment as applicable. * Completes all
assigned training including corporate, HSE and Quality related.
Preferred candidates will possess:
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of
applicable experience; chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
* Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations
certification (24 Hour and Annual 8 Hour refresher). * Experience
operating and maintaining planetary mixers and three-roll milling
equipment and/or experience with inks manufacturing.
