Description:Welcome to Sikorsky Innovations, the technology

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components and
systems. Primary focus on advanced development and design of
electrical motors for aerospace applications with high reliability
and high volumetric and gravitational power densities and build in
redundancies and limited fault propagation. In addition of
electromagnetic design of the motor the work will include multi
physics integration and optimization of the overall system (gear
boxes, motors and power converters) including electrical,
mechanical and thermal aspects of the system.
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of electrical and mechanical
engineering with sound theoretical background and knowledge of
state of the art modeling and simulation 2D and 3D FEA tools and
passion for product development, capability to take on various
tasks, grow own knowledge and expertise and help and collaborate
with other team members.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related
discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14
years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of
professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered
an expert, authority in discipline.
Desired Skills:
Deep technical background and hands on knowledge of electrical
machines and electromagnetic. Knowledge of modeling and simulation
tools (FEA, 2D and 3D), manufacturing processes and materials for
motor fabrication. Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering,
stress analysis, vibrations and cooling methods. Understanding of
full product development cycle from concept inception to
introduction into production. Ability to combine theoretical
modeling and simulation research and development work with work in
laboratory environment for reduced and full- scale prototypes and
product development. Good communications and people skill to
interact, share knowledge and collaborate with other team
members.
