Job Description:

Family Service League (FSL) seeks a compassionate and dedicated Advocate to join our team of professionals in supporting individuals and families across Long Island. This role is instrumental in providing direct assistance and advocacy in our various programs such as mental health counseling, homelessness prevention, and educational support. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to assess their needs, link them to appropriate services, and help them navigate through their challenges to achieve a better quality of life. As an Advocate, you will be at the heart of our mission, making a tangible difference daily. Conduct intake interviews to assess client needs and goals. Develop and implement advocacy plans tailored to individual client circumstances. Coordinate with service providers to ensure clients receive necessary services. Maintain accurate and confidential client records. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Educate clients about available community resources and programs. Follow up with clients regularly to assess progress and adjust advocacy plans accordingly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality Expertise in navigating social services systems Crisis management abilities Proficient in case management software and MS Office Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Social Worker (CSW) preferred Valid driver’s license as local travel may be required
