At Family Service League (FSL), we are dedicated to uplifting and providing comprehensive support to individuals and families across Long Island facing lifes challenges. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Advocate who will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients receive the social services they need, including mental health counseling, homelessness prevention, and educational support. This position is an opportunity to become the voice of the vulnerable and the bridge to necessary resources that empower and sustain our community members. Assist clients in accessing necessary social services and resources. Provide emotional support and guidance through crisis situations. Collaborate with community groups and other organizations to enhance service provision. Maintain detailed records of client interactions and services provided. Advocate for clients' needs with other service providers and agencies. Participate in outreach and educational programs to elevate community awareness on available services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Crisis management and intervention skills Proficiency in case management software Knowledge of local social service networks and resources Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Licensed Social Worker (LSW) preferred, but not mandatory Crisis intervention training certification is a plus
